University visit

We are delighted to announce that representatives from Wesleyan University will be visiting our school on Monday, September 18. High School students are invited to learn more about the university and what it has to offer. To reserve your spot, please sign up at the College Counseling board on the Floor 4 hallway or contact Linda Liu at linda.liu@wyischina.com.

For 2022-2023, Wesleyan University was ranked 18th among liberal arts colleges—and 17th in Best Value Schools—in the United States. The university offers 1000+ courses across 45 majors and 32 minors.

Secondary Fall Camp

On September 27-28, Secondary students will travel to the Mulan scenic area of Huangpi, Hubei for a two-day active learning event. Fall Camp is a compulsory experience for all Wuhan Yangtze Secondary students that enables them to bond with each other in ways a classroom can’t provide. Last year's seniors described it like this, "Fall Camp includes activities that require students to exercise teamwork while forming and strengthening relationships. It is an important time for getting to know peers better and on a more personal level."

Permission slips and additional information will be sent home with students next week.

If you have any questions, contact Paul deMena at paul.demena@wyischina.com.

MAP testing

We are continuing with MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing this week. We conduct MAP tests regularly throughout the year, which allows us to track students’ growth each time they test.

Week 2 (September 11-15): Grades 3, 5, 9 and 10
Week 3 (September 18-22): Grades 2, 4, 6, 7 and 8
Week 4 (September 25-26): Makeup testing

To learn more about MAP, please read here or contact your child’s teacher. For more information and helpful tips about MAP testing at Wuhan Yangtze, click here.
