INTERNATIONAL DAY

It's almost here. This Saturday. International Day 2019.

Wear your country's best and join us. Join us for the performances, the food, the carnival, the community.

We look forward to celebrating with you the diverse cultures that make up this amazing community. Join us.

The celebration begins at 10 AM.

HS SCIENCE & ENGINEERING FAIR

Please join us for the High School Science and Engineering Fair on Thursday, November 28, from 1-3 PM in the lobby of the Performing Arts Building. We encourage you to come and talk with our secondary students as they share the results of their science fair projects. We will also have an awards ceremony and serve refreshments at the event.

ELEMENTARY FALL LEADERSHIP CAMP

Next Tuesday, November 26, we will have our first Elementary Falll Leadership Camp.

The purpose of this camp is to help kids understand and own the leadership potential that we believe everybody is born with. Students will hear from inspirational leaders, engage in fun leadership and team-building activities, and learn how to apply leadership skills in their daily life. Get ready, kids. The camp is coming!

Elementary Fall Leadership Camp is a one-day event that will be held during school hours.

LAOS FUNDRAISER BAKE SALES

The Laos team is having a bake sale in the cafeteria on November 22 and December 6 to raise money for the Laos trip. The bake sales will be during both elementary and secondary lunch times, 11:15-12:45. Items for sale include brownies, cupcakes, cookies, banana bread, etc. All proceeds support the team of students and staff headed on the Laos service trip in January 2020.

FOOD DRIVE - STAMPEDE HUNGER IN WUHAN

Stampede Hunger Food Drive is a week-long event where all students and staff compete to see who can bring in the most food to help the hungry in Wuhan. The food drive begins on Wednesday, November 27 and ends on Wednesday, December 4. Full details are found here.

LIBRARY ON THE WEB

Our library now has a dedicated page on the WYIS website. This page has information about the library, what it offers, how to volunteer, and a link to our library catalog. The catalog is where you can see all the books that are available to you.

The library is a great resource. Your children use it every week in school, and so can you! Check out the library page for more info.

KOREAN COLLEGE PREP WORKSHOP

If your child is planning to go to university in Korea, please join us for a Korean College Prep workshop hosted by Irene Kim. In this session, you'll learn how to prepare documents and personal essays, as well as understand more about the application process for Korean universities.

The workshop will be on Friday, November 29, at 9 AM.
