PARENT WORKSHOP - HOW TO READ/UNDERSTAND A MAP REPORT

Reports from October’s MAP Testing are now available in DocBox on PowerSchool. Please log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal to view your child's report.

Now that you have the MAP Report, what do you do with it? How do you read it, and what does the report show about your child's learning? Join us this Friday, November 20, from 2-3 for a parent workshop where we will answer those questions for you.

At the workshop we will share with you how to read these reports so you can understand how your child is progressing. To get the most out of this workshop, please bring a printed copy of your child's report. Please come, bring the questions, bring the reports, and learn together how to better understand these regular MAP tests your child takes here at WYIS.

Translation will be available.

STAYING ON CAMPUS AFTER SCHOOL

We love our campus being used to build community. Parents are welcome to stay after school to use our playgrounds, but keep in mind that parents or guardians are required to provide supervision and maintain responsibility for their own children.

Playgrounds remain open until 5 each day, but children may not be left unattended. Students who are not staying for after-school or scheduled activities should leave all buildings (academic, performing arts, and athletics) by 3:15 each day. For safety reasons, we cannot allow students to remain on campus at any point unsupervised.

HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE FAIR

Please join us for the High School Science and Engineering Fair at WYIS on Friday, November 27, from 1-3 PM.

The event starts at 1 in the Performing Arts Building Auditorium, where we’ll announce awards. From there, please join us on the 5th floor of the Academic Building for refreshments and interactions with the students about their projects. This is an exciting event where we celebrate the hard work of all students.

Please contact Bryan Fisher at bryan.fisher@wyischina.com with any questions.
