HS SCIENCE & ENGINEERING FAIR
Please join us for the High School Science and Engineering Fair on Thursday, November 28, from 1-3 PM in the lobby of the Performing Arts Building. We encourage you to come and talk with our secondary students as they share the results of their science fair projects. We will also have an awards ceremony and serve refreshments at the event.
Please come and help us celebrate the hard work of our students. If you have questions, please contact Bryan Fisher.
LAOS FUNDRAISER BAKE SALES
The Laos team is having a bake sale in the cafeteria on November 22 and December 6 to raise money for the Laos trip. The bake sales will be during both elementary and secondary lunch times, 11:15-12:45.
Please come to the bake sale and buy lots of goodies to support the team of students and staff headed on the Laos service trip in January 2020.
Items for sale include brownies, cupcakes, cookies, banana bread, etc.

ELEMENTARY FALL LEADERSHIP CAMP
This year the Elementary team is excited to announce our first Elementary Fall Leadership Camp on Tuesday, November 26. The camp is a one-day event that will be held during school hours.
The purpose of this camp is to help kids understand and own the leadership potential that we believe everybody is born with. Students will hear from inspirational leaders, engage in fun leadership and team-building activities, and learn how to apply leadership skills in their daily life. Get ready, kids. The camp is coming!
FOOD DRIVE - STAMPEDE HUNGER IN WUHAN
Stampede Hunger Food Drive is a week-long event where all students and staff compete to see who can bring in the most food to help the hungry in Wuhan. The food drive begins on Wednesday, November 27 and ends on Wednesday, December 4. The competition is based on classes bringing in packages of food. A package consists of one bag of rice, one bottle of oil, and one pack of noodles. Each package should cost no more than 100 RMB. (Rice should be 5kg per bag, oil should be 1.8L per bottle, and noodles should be 1kg per bag. There are no brand or type requirement for any of these.)
There are three groups - ECC, Elementary, and Secondary - and one winner from each group. Classes compete against one another within each group. For ECC and elementary, students should bring food to their classrooms. For secondary, students drop off their food packages at stations we will have set up at school entrances.
Event leaders will record amounts received each day. The winners in each group are those classes that bring in the most packages of food by December 4. Winners will receive a Super Ice-Cream Buffet during lunch time one day after the event. Again, there are three winners -- one from ECC, one from Elementary, and one from Secondary.
We are coordinating with a local food bank on this event, using their direction on how we can be most helpful.
LIBRARY ON THE WEB
Our library now has a dedicated page on the WYIS website. This page has information about the library, what it offers, how to volunteer, and a link to our library catalog. The catalog is where you can see all the books that are available to you.
The library is a great resource. Your children use it every week in school. So can you! Check out the library page for more info.
