We're less than two weeks away from our biggest event of the year, International Day! International Day is our annual tradition celebrating the rich cultural diversity at WYIS. It's an exciting interactive multicultural display of food, activities, performances, and more.
This year's theme is "Around the World in 4 Hours." If you're a current WYIS student or parent, please make sure you join us for this trip around the world... all on the WYIS campus.
International Day is on Saturday, November 13, from 10 AM - 2 PM.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, International Day 2021-2022 is a private event only for current WYIS students and families, WYIS staff, and selected guests.
HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE & ENGINEERING FAIR
Please join us for the High School Science and Engineering Fair at WYIS on Friday, November 19, from 1-3 PM. The event starts at 1 in the Performing Arts Building Auditorium, where we’ll announce awards. From there, please join us on the 5th floor of the Academic Building for interactions with the students about their projects. This is an exciting event where we celebrate the hard work of all students.

REPORT CARDS & GRADES IN POWERSCHOOL
QUARTER 1 GRADES AVAILABLE ON POWERSCHOOL
Report card for Quarter 1 are now available on PowerSchool. Please log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal to view your child's report. ECC report cards are located in Students Report. G1 to G12 report card are located in Docbox.

REPORT CARDS FOR 2020/2021
Each student who was here for the 2020/2021 school year has an official report card prepared for them. We will send report cards home with students this week. Please check with your child(ren) about the report card and make sure you receive it.

ISC SAFETY & SECURITY WEEK
The week of November 8-12 will be Safety & Security Week for WYIS and all iSC schools. Safety is always a top priority for us at WYIS, so dedicating a week to Safety & Security helps us raise awareness and promote safety within our community. We'll offer different safety topics each day, which students will find woven throughout their learning in classrooms and assemblies.
Safety & Security Week: November 8-12, 2021
The Education Bureau has asked that we monitor absences due to illness as part of COVID-19 health protocol. To comply with this mandate, any time a student or staff is absent because of illness, they are required to complete a form to inform us of their symptoms on the day of their absence.
If your child is absent due to an illness, please complete the Medical Absence form, which is conveniently located on our WeChat menu and website. For privacy purposes, information will be directly received by the school nurse.
UPCOMING ONLINE UNIVERSITY SESSIONS
If you have an older student and are considering universities for their future, please spend some time visiting university websites to learn what they have to offer. Here are some tips to make your online browsing more successful:
- Make sure you are visiting the undergraduate section, then explore the academic programs and admission requirements.
- If you are looking at a school in a country where you are not a citizen, make sure you look in the international section.
- Look for online information sessions, which many universities offer. The list below is only a small sample of upcoming events. Click the links below for more information. (In most cases, students or parents must first register to attend. Please note, these are not private sessions for WYIS.)

PERSONALIZED UNIFORM HOODIE ORDERS
We are now taking personalized hoodie orders for our uniform WYIS zip-up hoodie. If you would like to have a zip-up hoodie with your name printed on the back, please complete this form (HERE) before Friday, November 5. The cost is 230RMB each, and it will be deducted from your child's account directly. You should receive the hoodie you ordered before Christmas break.
