ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL FOR 2020/2021
Last week we introduced you to our new Secondary Principal for coming school year. This week, we are pleased to introduce you to another new member of our principal team.
In summer 2020, we will welcome the Hatten family to WYIS. Will Hatten will be our new Elementary Principal. Will's wife, Leslie, will join our Elementary teaching team.
Dr. Latasha Carter, who has been Elementary Principal since 2018, will move back to Texas this summer to pursue a new opportunity.
Click below for more information about Dr. Carter's transition, as well as an introduction to the Hatten family.
MATERIALS SURVEY (Textbooks, MS Surfaces, Library Books)
To help us develop our school's end-of-year procedures, we need information from you about school materials currently checked out and whether or not they will be returned by the end of the school year. The information you provide in this survey may affect future purchases and policies in various departments.
CLICK HERE for this brief survey. One survey response per family, please. The survey will be open from April 29 - May 15.
If you or your child would like to find out what books you have checked out right now, you can sign in to your library accounts, and check under “My Info.” If you or your child need help signing in, email the librarians at library@wyischina.com. You can also simply mark “Not sure” on the survey, and one of the librarians will get in touch with you to help you figure out what you have.
Note: All overdue fees caused by the COVID-19 situation will be waived once books are returned, so please ignore overdue book fee notices.
UPDATE ON SAT
Below is an update from CollegeBoard regarding SAT.
CollegeBoard will not be able to administer the SAT and SAT Subject Tests as planned on June 6, 2020.
Students will have opportunities to take the SAT to make up for this spring’s lost administrations. If it’s safe from a public health standpoint, we will provide weekend SAT administrations every month through the end of the calendar year, beginning in August. This includes a new administration in September and the previously scheduled tests on August 29, October 3, November 7, and December 5.
Students will be able to register for these administrations beginning in May. We’ll communicate directly with students when the exact date is available. Students who were registered for June and those in the high school class of 2021 who do not have SAT scores will have early access to registration for the August, September, and October administrations.
