HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS: WYIS Water Buffaloes Toy & Clothing Drive Event

Next week begins Hope for the Holidays, a toy and clothing drive event led by our students. We encourage you to donate new and gently used toys and clothing items to benefit underprivileged families both in Wuhan and in the Philippines. Information is being sent home with students this week with more information about how you can participate.

Questions? Contact staff sponsor of Hope for the Holidays, Karl Dawson (karl.dawson@wyischina.com).

"A CONNECTED CHRISTMAS"

The WYIS 2020 Christmas Program, "A Connected Christmas," is coming soon.

  • The Elementary program is at 8:30 AM on Thursday, December 10 and will feature musical performances from our elementary music classes, as well as an audience sing-along.
  • The Secondary program is at 6:30 PM on Friday, December 11 and will feature performances from drama, choir, and band.

We are grateful to be able to share our performances on a stage once again. Please join us for this special time of connection and community this Christmas.

PICTURE DAY

Picture Day will be on Thursday and Friday, December 3 and 4, 2020.

Group photos (classroom, advisory, etc) will be on Thursday. Individual student photos will be on Friday.

Students must wear their uniform polo for all photos - white and green are both okay to wear. If it is PE day, students must bring their polo uniform to change into for the photo.

AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES UPDATE: TABLE TENNIS SIGNUP

We will finish our last table tennis practice on December 14. If you would like your child to continue learning table tennis after school, please sign up for the second Table Tennis Club beginning December 10 at 8pm. If you have questions, contact Susie Xiong, After-School Activities Coordinator, at Susie.xiong@wyischina.com.

ELEM. SOCCER GAME DECEMBER 9

Come to campus on December 9 to cheer on our younger WYIS Water Buffaloes in a soccer game. We are having an elementary soccer game with Wuhan WEDZ Experimental Primary School at 4pm on Wednesday, December 9. If it rains that day, the game will move to December 16. Students who will participate in the game are mostly 5th graders, with some from grades 3-6 as well. Go, Buffaloes!

POWERSCHOOL REPORT CARDS & ATTENDANCE

As you may know, you can access report cards for your child through Doc Box on PowerSchool. We are having an issue with attendance not showing correctly on the report cards for secondary students, so all attendance and tardies show a 0. This may not be accurate for your child. To see an accurate record of attendance and tardies, please log into the parent portal and view Grades and Attendance for your child. If you have questions, please contact Agnes Liu (agnes.liu@wyischina.com).
