Gongxi! Gongxi! Gongxi!
In the days leading up to the new year, WYIS’ Chinese language teachers have created celebrations for the Spring Festival. To welcome the new year, elementary students are engaging in cultural exchange activities with different classes and grade levels, including paper cutting, making games, creating New Year books, etc.
Secondary students have been preparing for the New Year by practicing for a performance on Friday afternoon. Students will share with others their wonderful singing, dancing performances, and poetry readings. After the performance, they will take part in traditional folk activities like writing Spring Festival couplets, making sugar paintings, sewing sachets, making strings, and throwing pots.
The atmosphere of WYIS before the Spring Festival is electric. Spring Festival, here we come!
