72 Hour Theatre
72 Hour Theatre begins next week for participating Secondary students from September 11-13! Can they pull off a theatre performance in just three days? Permission slips and the 120 RMB participation fee are due this Friday.
Families are invited to attend the performance at 18:00 next Saturday, September 13.

How to use Canvas
We’re excited to invite you to a parent workshop about using Canvas on Monday, September 8. We will offer the same workshop for two convenient times for you to choose from:
Times: 14:00–15:00 and 19:00-20:00
Location: PAB Buffalo Room (formerly the 1st floor music room)
Canvas is our school's online learning platform where parents can view their child's course materials, assignments and grades to stay informed about their child's academic progress. If you’d like to learn more about how to use Canvas, this session is for you! Our principals will guide you through logging in to your Canvas account and navigating Canvas for Elementary and Secondary students.
Please bring your electronic device (cell phone or laptop).

Picture Day
Picture Day will be on September 9 and 11. Individual student photos will be on Tuesday and group photos (classroom and all school photo) will be on Thursday.
Students must wear their uniform polo for all photos - white and green are both okay to wear. If it is PE day, students must bring their polo uniform to change into for the photo. The backdrop for the individual photo will be white.

Secondary Fall Camp
Secondary students will soon be participating in our annual Fall Camp from September 17-19. This year, we will be going to Hubei Yichang San Xia Ren Jia Scenic Area.
Fall Camp is an important part of our Secondary program. It is an opportunity for students to build relationships with their classmates and teachers through a variety of activities. Every year, we notice a boost in student engagement and sense of community after Fall Camp.
Same as last year, there will be a BBQ, a bonfire, and the annual painting of a banner for their advisory group. New this year, we will spend the day Thursday touring a world-famous scenic area among the Three Gorges of Hubei.
Attendance is required, just like other school days. Students will soon be bringing home permission slips with additional information.

Fall MAP testing
We will begin fall MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing on September 8. We conduct MAP tests regularly throughout the year, which allows us to track students’ growth each time they test. Please ensure that your child is present for school and arrives on time on testing dates.
Date | Grades |
---|---|
September 8-12 | Grades 3-8 |
September 15-19 | Kindergarten + Grades 1-2 |
September 22-26 | Grades 9 + 10 |
To learn more about MAP, please read here or contact your child’s teacher. For more information and helpful tips about MAP testing at Wuhan Yangtze, click here.

Student drop-off safety guidelines
We are committed to ensuring the safety of all our students. Please note the following guidelines for the designated bus lane in front of the main lobby:
- The bus lane area painted in yellow is reserved for quick student drop-offs during the school day.
- Do not allow your child to exit the vehicle if you are stopped on the left side of the road. This poses a safety risk.
- We kindly ask all parents and visitors not to park in the bus lane at any time.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and efficient drop-off process.
