Full descriptions of each activity will be available in PowerSchool starting at 8:00 on Monday, September 22. Please scroll all the way to the bottom for important information.

NOTE: In order to make registration more equitable and less stressful for our families, we are now using a lottery system. Registration will still be in PowerSchool.

With the lottery system, you can register or "enter the lottery" for an activity any time during the 1-week registration period. Once you enter the lottery, you must wait until after the registration period has ended before you will know if you have successfully been enrolled. Entering the lottery early does not increase your chance of getting enrolled. We have considered many options and tested this system extensively over the past several months. While no system is perfect, we believe this lottery system allows more equal opportunity than what we have used in the past.

Important information

  1. The first round of registration will start at 8:00 on Monday, September 22 and end at 15:00 on Monday, September 29. Due to limited spots, Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten parents can sign up for no more than three activities for their child during the first round (lottery period). If there is still open space after the lottery, we will allow student to register for more activities starting at 8:00 on Tuesday, September 30. After that time, registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. As usual, registration is completed through PowerSchool. Quarter 2 activities will start on Monday, October 20 and end on Friday, December 12.
  2. Once you have entered the lottery for a particular activity, you can check to see if the lottery enrolled you beginning at 8:00 on Tuesday, September 30. If a student's name is chosen for the lottery in an activity, the message shown in PowerSchool will display "Enrolled." If a student's name is not chosen for the lottery in an activity, the activity will no longer be visible.
  3. For sports activities, we occasionally organize games where students can compete against teams from outside. While participation is not guaranteed for everyone, students currently enrolled in the relevant sports clubs will be given priority. If additional players are needed, students who were enrolled in the club during the previous quarter of this school year will have the next opportunity to participate. Finally, any remaining spots will be offered to students who are not enrolled in the clubs.
  4. Activities have a minimum number of students required. If fewer than the minimum enters the lottery, the activity will not take place. Ms. Xiong will email you one day in advance to inform you about the cancellation.
  5. If your child gets enrolled into an activity, you have 7 days from the date the activity begins to decide whether or not you would like your child to continue in that activity. Within those first 7 days, you can withdraw your child and not get charged the fee. To withdraw, you must email Susie Xiong at susie.xiong@wyischina.com. After 7 days, the Finance Office will deduct the activity fee from your child’s account and will not return the fee if your child withdraws from the activity. Spots are limited in each activity, so please choose wisely.
  6. If you have questions or need further help, please contact Susie Xiong at susie.xiong@wyischina.com.

Here is the Agreement for After-School Activities that all participating students must return to Susie Xiong or their activity leader. If you have already signed the ASA Agreement Form in the Signature Booklet found in your Welcome Pack from Open House, then there is no need to sign it again. One agreement is good for the whole year.
