La Grande Lessive
Our school will be partnering with EFIW to participate in La Grande Lessive collaborative art project on Thursday, October 17. On October 17, clotheslines will be set up in the courtyard between WYIS and EFIW.
What is La Grande Lessive?
It is a global visual arts project with participants hanging their artwork like laundry on a clothesline in countries all around the world. The goal is to bring people together through art and celebrate creativity in all its forms.
How can you participate?
- Create your artwork. Your piece should be done on A4-sized paper. You can use any medium – pencils, markers, paints, or photography.
- Theme. The theme for this year is "Same/Not the same". Let your imagination soar and express yourself!
- Who. All students, staff and parents of WYIS and EFIW.
- How. Attach your artwork using clothes pegs that will be provided at the outdoor courtyard on Thursday morning when you arrive at school. Please return and collect your artwork at the end of school.
Guidelines for submission
- Only A4-sized paper is allowed.
- Write your name and grade on the back of your paper.
- Be creative, but keep your designs respectful and appropriate for a school environment.

Fall Fusion
Secondary students in performing arts will be having a showcase called Fall Fusion on Wednesday, October 30 at 17:00 at the outdoor court. Come and watch our singers, musicians and actors display their talent in a variety of artistic expressions. You are welcome to bring a picnic blanket for the show!

Spirit Day: Character Day
Student Council plans to host a Spirit Day each month as an opportunity for WYIS students and teachers to show school spirit by coming to school dressed according to a chosen theme. The theme for this month is Character Day. Students and teachers are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favorite characters from movies, shows, books, or others on Wednesday, October 30!
Note:
- Costumes must not have blood/gore and must be school-appropriate.
- Students can choose not to dress in a theme for the day, but they must still wear their school or PE uniforms.
