La Grande Lessive

Our school will be partnering with EFIW to participate in La Grande Lessive collaborative art project on Thursday, October 17. On October 17, clotheslines will be set up in the courtyard between WYIS and EFIW. Everyone can attach their artwork using clothes pegs in the morning when they arrive at school. At the end of school, everyone must collect their artwork.

What is La Grande Lessive?
It is a global visual arts project with participants hanging their artwork like laundry on a clothesline in countries all around the world. The goal is to bring people together through art and celebrate creativity in all its forms.

How can you participate?

  • Create your artwork. Your piece should be done on A4-sized paper. You can use any medium – pencils, markers, paints, or photography.
  • Theme. The theme for this year is "Same/Not the same". Let your imagination soar and express yourself!
  • Who. All students, staff and parents of WYIS and EFIW.
  • Deadline. Students can give their finished artwork to their homeroom teacher by Tuesday, October 15. Parents can give their artwork to the front desk in the lobby by October 15.

Guidelines for submission

  • Only A4-sized paper is allowed.
  • Write your name and grade on the back of your paper.
  • Be creative, but keep your designs respectful and appropriate for a school environment.

Secondary Fall Camp

Secondary Fall Camp will be taking place on September 26-27. Fall Camp is an opportunity for students to build relationships with their classmates and teachers through a variety of team-building games. Attendance is required just like other school days. This year, we will be going to Hubei Xin Sanjiang Ecological Garden. There will be outdoor and indoor games and activities, including training from a guest speaker coming in from Shanghai. The theme this year is "Ownership," which aligns with our Assembly classes that encourage students to take responsibility for their learning and development.
