WYIS is pleased to announce the Senior Class of 2022 will have their Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, June 9, from 5-6 PM in the WYIS Auditorium.
Due to COVID regulations, the ceremony is a private event that will be available to the larger WYIS community via livestream. WYIS staff and secondary students may attend in person.
For more information, contact Ms. Kim.
ISC VIRTUAL ART EXHIBITION
Five WYIS students from each age group have been chosen to represent WYIS in the iSC Art Exhibition, an annual event that has moved to a virtual space starting this school year. Middle and High School galleries are juried shows and students are awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Enjoy the student art in a virtual space and watch out for avatars that might be visiting at the same time.
Explore and celebrate our students' work by scanning the QR code on the poster to visit the iSC Virtual Art Galleries for High School, Middle School, and Elementary.
TRAFFIC DELAYS DUE TO GAOKAO
Plan for high traffic and a longer commute next week, as local high schoolers will take the gaokao test Tuesday through Thursday, June 7-9. This does not affect WYIS students, though it may affect your commute to school.
If you have a WYIS parking pass, you should be able to enter and exit the school, but ONLY from the north/New Golden Harbor side of Boxue Lu and only by showing your parking pass identifying you as a WYIS parent.
Boxue Lu will be closed to general traffic those days, so please allow plenty of extra time to allow for alternate routes and very busy traffic. Walkers/bikers to WYIS should not be affected.
Thursday, June 9, is our annual last-day-of-school tradition: Water Day! For all students, this is a non-uniform day. Please wear clothing that can get wet - this means no white shirts/shorts, please - and bring a towel and change of clothes for afterwards. Below is a brief overview of each department’s water fun.
- Lower Elementary (EC4-Grade 2) ECC will have their games starting at 10:00 while grades 1 & 2 will begin their games at 11:00. No water guns will be allowed. Students will use materials provided by classroom teachers.
- Upper Elementary (Grades 3-5) will have their water fight from 10:20-10:35. Students can use buckets, cups, or water bottles. No water balloons or guns are allowed. Students need to bring a towel and a change of clothes to school. No white shirts allowed during the water fight.
- Secondary will have their water fight from 11:15 - 11:35. Students should bring a towel and a change of clothes to school. Students should wear dark-colored clothing for the water fight (no white shirts or shorts) and may bring buckets and/or water guns, but NO water balloons.
END-OF-YEAR CHECKOUT PROCEDURES
We have two more weeks until school ends. Please note this important information about end-of-year procedures:
There will be a check–out fair for all secondary students (leaving and returning) in the library on Wednesday, June 8, from 11: 30 until 12：50. The check-out fair is a one-stop service for students to return their textbooks, electronic devices, and clear all outstanding accounts. The school librarian, registrar, IT office, cashier, and finance department will all be present during the fair and will facilitate the end of year check- out.
Because of the check-out fair, school buses will depart from the school at 1 pm. Students who wish to order a school lunch can do so.
FOR ALL LEAVING & GRADUATING STUDENTS
Official documents will be ready for pick up from June 13, from Registrar Agnes Liu. Please make sure your child has submitted the check-out form indicating that he or she has returned all books and cleared all outstanding accounts.
FOR ALL RETURNING STUDENTS
To keep you informed about your child's academic performance, we will provide each student with a final official report card at the end of year. The report card will be available for pick up over the summer or at the beginning of the new school year. You can also check power school Docbox for electronic report card.
If you have any questions regarding this, please contact Ms. Agnes Liu at firstname.lastname@example.org.

In order to improve our After-School Activities (ASA) program, we need your input. Parents, please take a moment to answer questions on THIS about our after-school activities. The survey is brief, and your input is so helpful. The survey will remain open through June 9.
